Though power output and fuel economy are similar, the Bluetec engine takes advantage of the U.S. government's new low-sulfur diesel fuel requirement. New technologies allow the 2007 E320 to produce fewer tailpipe emissions. The new turbo-diesel V-6 is the smoothest and most well-mannered diesel to date. With more torque than an E550, it will rocket away from a stop with tire-chirping urge, and the turbocharger is seamlessly integrated. The 0-to-60-mph figure is essentially the same as an E350's, yet the fuel economy is better by 7 mpg city and 11 mpg highway, and its range can top 700 miles on the highway. All '07 E-Class models get revised front and rear styling, new engines, and additional safety equipment. 7-speed automatic transmission. ABS and traction/antiskid control are standard. Front and rear side airbags and curtain side airbags with rollover deployment are standard. New for '07 is Mercedes' Pre-Safe system, which automatically tightens seatbelts and readies full braking power when sensors detect an imminent collision. Equipped with COMAND DVD NAVIGATION.
